~ POLICIES ~

The following is a list of policies and procedures for We Luv Your Pets.
They are published here to avoid any misunderstandings or surprises.
I want my clients to be as fully informed as possible.
I do not want any pets to suffer because of lack of our communicating.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask.

RESERVATIONS

Phone/Office Hours: Monday -Saturday 8am-8pm. If you have an emergency please text message Joni at 623-206-1450. Please note that all phone calls will be returned within 24 hours and emails will be returned as soon as possible. Please allow some flexibility during the holidays.

Once you decide in-home care is for you, call us to schedule
a 1/2 hour consultation appointment.
Be prepared to supply us with a copy of your pets vaccination record.

  1. Please make your reservations early. I can only take a limited number of pets. I will do my best to accommodate emergency last minute plans but I can't promise I'll be available. We do not overbook or squish clients in.
  2. I do not do every other day visits. All pets in my care must be seen at least once a day. Dogs must be seen twice a day and crated dogs must be seen three times a day. I am not comfortable with not checking on a pet at least once in 24 hours. I care too much about these pets to take any chances.
  3. Please allow 2 weeks notice for new clients and 1 week for existing clients.
  4. No services are considered "reservations" until all fees have been collected.
  5. It is recommended that you inform your veterinarian that you are using this pet sitting service and check veterinary policy for payment. I may need information from your Vet that will not be released unless you advise them. All emergency veterinary charges will be the full responsibility of the client.
  6. If a pet is aggressive and a danger to others, or myself I reserve the right to refuse service.
  7. All pets must be current on all their vaccinations. A copy of this record must be provided.
  8. Pets that leave the house are required to wear identification tags while under our care.
  9. We do not accept clients who use invisible fencing.
  10. Job sharing with friends, neighbors or extended family members is not allowed except under extenuating circumstances.
  11. Once you're on file subsequent bookings are as simple as a phone call to check availability and update any pertinent information.
  12. Always confirm your reservation with me directly. Messages left by phone or e-mail are not an actual reservation. You will need direct confirmation by me that I have received and confirmed your request.
  13. When you make an advanced reservation for a pet sit I will re-confirm the dates of service 24-48 hours ahead of time. If you do not hear from me, you must call or email me and reconfirm the dates.
  14. Consultations are held during daylight hours. The purpose of the visit is to meet you and your pet(s), review our contract and job sheet, pick up two copies of your key and collect payment. This also allows us time to interact with your pet(s) so that we are totally comfortable caring for them in your absence and to familiarize ourselves with your home and pet routine. Likewise, it gives you time to feel comfortable with us caring for your pets and home.

THE VISIT

  1. Visits are scheduled between the hours of 7:00 AM. and 8:00 PM. I will ask you for a preferred time but it will be used as a time frame. I may come up to an hour before or after depending on my daily schedule. Daily schedules take many things into consideration including the location of visits and types of pets being watched. Pets receiving medication and inside only dogs get first priority.
  2. A normal visit is 30 minutes. Longer visits can be arranged for an additional fee.
  3. While at your home, we will provide the following:
  4. Clean up messes, using clients cleaning supplies and instructions.
  5. check and lock doors upon entering and exiting client's home.
  6. Pets will be leashed or properly restrained when out of home enclosed area.
  7. Maintain a scooped litter box, bird cage, hamster cage, etc.
  8. Fill out daily activity log.
  9. Bring in mail, papers, door hangers, etc. We do not go through client's mail unless requested to do so.
  10. Alternate lights and drapes.
  11. Restrain pets from drinking in puddles in the street or ingesting found items.
  12. We do not change the pets diet without permission from client or per vet instructions.
  13. I adjust the heat or A/C in your house if the health of your pet is being affected.
  14. I cannot be held liable for free roaming outdoor cats in the event of injury, illness, loss or death.

CANCELLATIONS ~ LATE RETURNS

  1. Clients must call We Luv Your Pets upon your return from a trip within 4 hours. Otherwise I will continue visiting to ensure the well-being of your pets. Additional visits will be added to your scheduled visits at $5 above your regular rate.
  2. Payment for additional services is due immediately upon your return. Cancellation of daily dog walks must be done before 7:30 a.m. If you don't let me know early enough and I do come to your house you will be charged whether I walk your dog or not.
  3. We require 48 hours notice for a credit. Sorry, no refunds can be made. Thank you for understanding. We will not give any credit for visits that sitters show up for that you failed to cancel before your departure. Once a sitter shows up, they must be compensated

HOLIDAYS

  1. There is an additional $10 per visit charge for the following holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. A $50 non refundable deposit is required to guarantee reservations for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
    All visits are to be paid in advance.
  2. No credit or refunds for early returns on any series of holiday visits.
PAYMENT
  1. Payment is due when services are contracted. We accept cash or checks.
  2. Rates are subject to change without notice
  3. Returned Check Fee: $35.00.

NEW CLIENTS

  1. Please call and book an initial consult at least a few weeks before your intended trip. No pet sitting or dog walking can be done until we have met for an orientation, all paper work has been filled out, and your account set up.
  2. Orientations are scheduled around my pet sitting appointments and can't be set up at the last minute. Both parties must be happy with all arrangements and it is best to leave time to set up alternate care in case things don't work out.   Orientation will take 30 –45 minutes. We will review pet information sheets and collect vet, emergency, behavior, and other relevant information. Most importantly, this will give me an opportunity to meet and learn more about your pets. If both parties agree upon the service, we will also review the service contract, invoice details, collect a house key, and collect payment.

SECURITY & PRIVACY

  1. Your privacy and safety are a prime concern and ours is as well. I carefully guard your keys, codes, personal information and lock all doors upon entering and exiting your home.
  2. We must be advised of any person who has access to your home. If we arrive and find things out of place or a stranger in your home, we are going to call the police first and ask questions later. This includes friends, relatives, children home from school, cleaning service or anyone else that could be entering your house while you are gone.
  3. We do not tell neighbors/others when or where clients are or when they will return "We are just helping out" is our usual answer
  4. KEYS: You must proved 2 keys to your house. Please test a newly copied key BEFORE handing it to us. All keys are kept in a safe place and do not have identifiers on them. Once services are completed, keys can be secured for future service or returned to you. If I keep your keys you will be all set for future visits (comes in handy if you accidentally lock yourself out). Keys are returned in person - we do not hide keys in the house, leave them on the counter, or under a mat once the service is over.If I return your keys there is a $20 fee for all future pick up and drop off of keys. Keys will be returned within 2 days of end of service.
  5. I try to take a picture of each pet for my web page or lost pet posters. If you don't want photos posted on my web page let me know.
  6. While in your home, we will always remain in the areas that are required to care for your pets or your home, as specified by you. Areas within your home that do not contain pet supplies or cleaning supplies are none of our concern and will always be treated accordingly.
  7. We do not discuss clients, their pets, home or travel plans in public in any manner that could identify them.
  8. I will never share, rent or sell your email, home address or your telephone numbers. We do not use our clients as references without their permission.
  9. We do not "advertise our services" to your neighbors while at your home.
